Service & Repair

We offer a range of service and repair packages, from twice-yearly inspections to emergency repair callouts.

At Prism Medical, we’re committed to the ongoing safety and wellbeing of the people who use our ranges of moving, handling and bathing equipment. We have the largest network of service and repair engineers in the UK, providing support for our own Prism, Mackworth and Freeway brands, as well as all other manufacturers.

Our service and repair engineers operate out of our regional service centres across the UK, and work in partnership with a number of Local Authorities, NHS Trusts and Care Home Groups as well as private customers, providing nationwide servicing and repair solutions.

What we do

Service and repair packages

We offer four comprehensive service and repair packages, designed to meet a variety of needs and budgets, and covering all manufacturers. Twice-yearly maintenance and inspection visits are included in all plans, ensuring equipment stays in a safe and comfortable working condition. Find out more about our available packages.

Emergency call-outs

A number of our service and repair packages offer an emergency call-out service for repairs, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. Our engineers are always prepared with a selection of spare parts, usually allowing them to carry out necessary repairs on the first visit, ensuring consistent safety and support.

Legislation compliance

Our service and repair packages are designed to ensure you remain compliant with all relevant legislation by providing twice-yearly inspections, including:

  • BS EN ISO 10535:2006 – Hoists for the transfer of disabled persons (requirements & test methods), which states that all patient lifting equipment must be serviced annually.
  • Lifting Operations & Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER) 1998, which states that lifting equipment must be inspected at six-monthly intervals, and that records must be kept of inspections and services
