Prism Medical UK were once again involved in an episode of DIY SOS: The Big Build, broadcast on 17th February at 9:00PM on BBC1.

Alongside Nick Knowles and his team, Prism helped remodel a home for a family in Birmingham.

Charlotte and Chris have twins who were born prematurely and have global development delay, which has slowed down their progress of walking and talking.

The family home wasn’t adjusted to the needs of the twins, so their progress and development was being impaired.

The DIY SOS team, alongside many volunteers and with the help of Prism Medical UK made a whole range of building adjustments and changes to help improve their living space.

Prism were delighted to donate and install four full Freeway TransactiveXtra ceiling track hoist systems for the twins, which will enhance the quality of their lives. Prism also provided a custom made walking harness to enable walking rehabilitation.

Brian Ruttle, Group Technical Support Manger, Prism Medical UK, was able to assist and advise the DIY SOS team on the installation and capabilities of the ceiling track hoist system, and stated:

‘Our goal at Prism is to enhance the quality of people’s lives, so we were very privileged to help out a family in need, and support the DIY SOS team throughout the build. Helping out Charlotte, Chris and their twins and seeing their lives transformed is a rewarding and fulfilling experience, not only for those involved in the project, but for everyone at Prism Medical UK’.
